For those of you who have been voting for the female contestants and have been following my VFTG Pick Addison Agen on The Voice 13 or have been following me on social media over the years, you probably do not know that it is with regret that I’ve decided to suspend production of Vote for the Girls USA after equipment malfunctioned as well as five moderator deaths in 2017.
It is sad time for everyone involved in this venture in the past year and few months. We want to personally thank any guest who became familiar with our moderators from the very first pick of Crystal Bowersox of American Idol 9 to the late Christina Grimmie to Alex & Sierra to Alison Porter to Lindsey Stirling of America’s Got Talent 5 and Dancing with the Stars 25.
After personally announcing the news to my staff, my moderators and Villains, it became apparent to me that nobody ever felt like the site was getting enough supporters and vote for female contestants and financial support to keep this site running. Over the past nine seasons, as the founder, owner, and webmaster of VFTGUSA, I’ve had the luxury to employ some very talented women on the Pink Team, transwomen on the Purple Team (including myself), transmen on the Red Team, men on the Blue Team, producers, directors, and production staff who became real family in the end. We know that their time spent working on Vote for the Girls will reverberate through America and our strongest markets of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Denver, Colorado; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Miami, Florida as well as more markets. The greatest compliment, as sad as it sounds, has been tears from our staff. Knowing that we were able to instill a sense of care and passion into my staff for the episodes of VFTGUSA we were posting on YouTube and Patreon as well as encouraging guests to vote for female contestants was a main priority from day one. We sincerely love the people who have worked for VFTGUSA.
We cannot thank the producers enough or say the right words about how they are creating an online community made in Marion/Muncie, Indiana that rivals any web site other than Vote for the Worst. It has been important to us and will always remain the top priority as we find our future in the female contestants with the absolute best, most seasonal, most sustainable picks from our Moderators and Villains who really have a passion for female vocalists and the impact they play on societies.
We will challenge any guest of ours, who has thoroughly enjoyed our site, to seek out people who are growing with care. When you vote for a female contestant or a male flex pick supported by one of our moderators (including myself) On shows like American Idol, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, etc. As Addison Agen is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, local fans like myself are always seeking out better supporters if they are not already making that move. As we learned, it is difficult to make this kind of community experience work financially, but it is a necessary step for the online community to move in the direction of sustainability and locality as well as the consumer to realize that these things come with a higher cost.
No doubt we made some mistakes along the way. We have learned over the past year and will continue to learn in the future to be able to offer the best in service to our respected communities. We cannot thank our guests enough for the opportunity to serve you. We have made numerous new friends through opening this site on April 28, 2010.
Serving all of you is the biggest reward we have gotten from Vote for the Girls USA and for that we will forever be grateful. One last big giant thank you to all staff, past and present, for investing time into Aeverine Zinn Holdings (the owner of this web site). One last huge giant enormous thank you to every local producer who showed up to our back door to inspire what we do.
We will keep you updated as time progresses and hopefully get things back up and running smoothly.
