There’s nothing like supporting female musicians with Vote for the Girls, and Kathi Jameson couldn’t imagine a better place to be (aside from being a duo moderator with her wife, Karly Jameson).
“I love Vote for the Girls. I'm proud to be doing Vote for the Girls because as a fellow Chicagoan (unlike Dave Della Terza), Chicago was the first place I saw success. Working with Ava, Holly, Tracia, and Lanise and the rest of the staff are so much fun; I can’t imagine a better place to be…(except maybe relaxing on a tropical island beach far from civilization.)”
Kathi didn’t have much choice in picking a career; broadcasting is in her blood. Kathi’s mom is a longtime anchorwoman at WCIL-FTV CBS 9 Chicago; her dad, a real estate mogul, hosts "The Chicago Apprentice" for WMAC-FTV, the NBC O&O in Chicago; and her aunt, Andrea Jameson, is a longtime anchor woman at WAWZ-FTV, the ABC O&O in Chicago. Kathi started as a camera operator at WMAC-FTV NBC 5 Chicago while still in high school, and then went on to study broadcast journalism at the Northwestern University. After graduating she spent several years bouncing her way up the broadcast ladder.
Kathi is a big sports fan, always rooting hard for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, Purdue and Indiana football and basketball teams., in addition to Karly's Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers.
In 2016, Kathi married Vote for the Girls moderator Karly Jameson (the former Karly Ryder, Jr.)
Things have gotten really crazy on Vote for the Girls the last several weeks. They have been filled with surprises, a death, Ava going through a lot of issues yet still manages to host Vote for the Girls…
